Our Story

StatFury was founded by in June 2018 by veteran journalist Leezel Tanglao. Leezel wanted to combine her 15 years of multimedia experience to offer clients not only journalistic services like writing and editing but tech consulting in areas such as project management, product management, data analysis.

Meet the Team

 

Leezel Tanglao

Principal Consultant

Leezel Tanglao is a multi-media journalist at the intersection of editorial, product, business development and sales. Currently, Leezel is the Director of Audience Insights and Innovation at The Points Guy, a Red Ventures company. Prior to this she was the Senior Editor for Membership and Innovation at HuffPost.

She launched products like proprietary social metric SURGE.

Leezel’s other stints include roles at  CBSNews.comVICE NewsNowThisABCNews.comKCBS/KCAL and The Press-Enterprise newspaper in Southern California.

She received her Bachelor’s degree at Loyola Marymount University and a Masters degree at UCLA.  She was part of the Poynter/ONA Women’s Leadership Program in 2016. She was named 2018 Member of Year by the Asian American Journalists Association after co-chairing AAJA-NY’s Trivia Bowl, a fundraiser that brings in $26,000 annually for scholarships.

She is a 2019 Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) delegate and is FYLPRO’s 2022 President. She is the chair of the FYLPRO COVID19 Taskforce. She is the Project Director of Tayo, a virtual help desk for Filipinos during COVID19.
